ND6 has a new database property which opens the mail file to the last used folder.

Try opening your mail, switching to your inbox, then close & re-open.

If you want it to always open to your inbox you can either change the database property (on the launch tab), or create a new bookmark for your inbox (just switch to your inbox then drag the tab to your bookmark bar)
